Jon is a Principal Tech Recruiter at Salient, focused across software engineering, AI and technical leadership.
He has spent twelve years in tech recruitment across the UK and Australia, working with founders, CTOs and engineering leaders on staff and principal-level searches, mostly at early-stage startups across Australia and London.
Jon’s focus is on searches where the answer isn’t someone who has done the exact job before. He works closely with companies to understand what they’re actually building and the technical problems behind it, then identifies engineers and leaders capable of solving problems that haven’t been solved in quite that form yet.
He’s particularly interested in how AI is changing both the way software is built and the people companies need to build it, and builds his own tools and products on the side to stay close to that shift.
Outside of work, Jon is usually spending time with family on the Central Coast, playing around with AI or sifting through the record shop bargain bin.
